Annual General Meeting 2014
TV NHW Association held their AGM/Conference & Awards Ceremony on Saturday 10th May 2014 at the Clare Charity Centre in Saunderton, Bucks.
The main speakers were: Rt. Hon Dominic Grieve QC, MP for Beaconsfield; Assistant Chief Constable Richard Bennett and Chris Holden Bucks Senior Trading Standards Officer.
Police & Crime Commissioner Anthony Stansfeld attended along with the Deputy Police & Crime Commissioner David Carroll. Anthony gave a short speech to ACC Richard Bennett to thank him for all his hard work whilst with TVP. He was taking up a new post with the College of Policing and the Conference was his last day.
There were also a number of displays around the Hall and in the corridors providing information from Trading Standards, Smart- Drugs, Crimestoppers, Avocet – locks & NHW.
ACC Richard Bennett stated that Thames Valley Police is the largest non-metropolitan force in the country, and 6th largest overall. He mentioned that crime was at it lowest in TV by 30%. And that cyber crime, Internet crime and child sex crimes were being dealt by TVP.
Rt. Hon Dominic Grieve, Attorney General spoke about what his role covers and is there to protect the independence of Crime Prosecution Service. He said that certain offences which include explosives, are only dealt with by him in consultation. He is also involved with the Serious Fraud Office.
Chris Holden Senior Bucks Trading Officer spoke on Doorstep Crime and scams and mentioned that computer scams and unwanted telephone calls are on the increase.
The TV NHW Awards were presented by ACC Richard Bennett on behalf of the Association to the following Co-ordinators:

Sandy Henry – Milton Keynes, Bucks
Trevor House – Didcot, South Oxfordshire
Selina Jackson – High Wycombe, Bucks
Pamela Johnson – Wooburn Town, Bucks
Ernest Smith – High Wycombe, Bucks.
A number of Co-ordinators spoke to the audience about how they run their Neighbourhood Watch schemes from different Local Policing areas across the region. They were:

The Conference was well attended by Co-ordinators across the region and enjoyed by all.
