About us

Thames Valley Neighbourhood Watch Association (TVNWA) covers the three counties of Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire. At three symposiums held across England and Wales in 2007 it was identified that various areas within the country had NHW Associations, except the Thames Valley. It was felt necessary to form an Association in order to determine the way foward for NHW as the largest voluntary organisation, not only locally, but nationally. Our aim is to support all forms of NHW across our region.

TVNWA was launched at Kidlington Police HQ in June 2008 independent of the Police but working in partnership with the Police and other appropriate agencies. The Association is managed by an Executive Committee and General Committee comprising of chairpersons of district associations, area co-ordinators and co-ordinators who represent their areas. After the inaugural meeting work commenced on producing a constitution. This has been agreed, accepted and is at present the governing document.

The Thames Valley Neighbourhood Watch Association is a member of the South East Region Forum (SERF) by a Representative and Deputy.

SERF is comprised of representatives and deputies from the County Associations of Hampshire, Kent, Surrey, Sussex and Thames Valley. The SERF group then elect a member from within the group, the region is then represented as part of the National NHW Organisation.
